Early Times Report rajouri, Dec 17: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh and under the Supervision of Nodal Officer, OSC, Bilal Mir,Sakhi-One Stop Centre (OSC), Rajouri conducted an awareness programme on women-centric issues and rights at JKB Rural Self Employment Training institute Rajouri. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness, disseminate information and educate the staff and the trainees. Speaking on the occasion, the Centre Administrator Neetu Sharma highlighted the functioning of OSC and its benefits towards women in general. She also dwelt on the violence and abuses faced by the women in the community and society at large and encouraged the students and teachers to be aware and educate people of the services and support provided at the Centre. She encouraged the gathering, especially the girls, to stop being an introvert and fight for their rights while facing problems such as sexual harassment, verbal abuse, economic abuse, obscene remarks, domestic violence, physical violence and other negative impacts. While highlighting these problems, she challenged the gathering to be a change maker and to rise up and report such problems to the centre. |
