Range Officer stalls eviction operation against his encroachment on Forest Land | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 17: A powerful Range Officer (RO) posted in District Poonch has reportedly stalled eviction operation of Forest Department initiated against Forest land encroached by him. "A complaint has been received against the Forest Officer from of Director, Vigilance Organisation Jammu (Now Anti- Corruption Bureau) regarding encroachment an forest land Khasra no. 2274 viallge Galhutra. On Similar note, District Vigilance Office is also pursuing this complaint vide letter no ADCP/PS/3238 dated 14/03/2019 through this office received by the office of Divisional Forest Officer Poonch", sources informed Early Times. They said that same complaint has also been received from office of CCF Jammu vide endorsement No. CCF-J/Complaint/5-6 dated 03/04/2017. "After perusal of complaint, it has been found that Khasra No 2274 & 2276 village Galhutra are forest land, recorded as Ghair Mumkin Jungle in records of right, which is important substantial evidence in Court of law. Shamim Ahmed and others are un-authorised in possession of forest land in Khasra No. 2276 in grab of illegal revenue records", they said, adding that the District Commissioner Poonch has issued speaking order vide endorsement no. DCP/SQ/3159-63 dated 23/11/2019 wherein mutation no. 819 (Under 394/C) has been declared void. "Eviction Order against the Range Officer u/s 48-A Forest Act has been issued, meanwhile request for disciplinary action against said officer sought from Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) and same is awaited. It has been learned that the RO using his connection is CCF office has stalled the eviction process", they added. |
