2 days National Seminar on Urdu concludes | | | Early Times Report jammu, Dec 17: The two day National seminar on the topic "The Contribution of Non-Muslim poets of Jammu and Kashmir in the development of Urdu Language and literature" was today concluded by organizing a valedictory function. The valedictory function was presided over by Prof. Abass Raza Nayyar, HOD Urdu Lucknow University while Prof. Mula Baksh from Aligarh Muslim University was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Dean Faculty of Arts and HOD Urdu also grace the presidium. The speakers described the two day seminar a historical one in the sense that a lot of Non Muslim poets and writers of Jammu and Kashmir were discussed and their role was highlighted in the development of Urdu language. During the seminar those Non Muslim writers and poets were highlighted and who contributed Urdu language & Literature includes the non muslim poets & writers of Chenab Valley, Pir Panchal, Udhampur, Kathua, Jammu & Ladakh. In his address Prof. Abbass Raza Nayyar described Jammu and Kashmir a land of poet, writers and intellectuals. According to him poets and writer of Jammu and Kashmir irrespective of caste, color and creed has contributed a tremendous poetry in Urdu. The Non Muslim poet like Aresh Shahbai, Balraj Bakshi, Joginder Pal Their, Mahkesh Kashmiri has written on different themes and their contribution to urdu language and literature could not be ignored by the history of writers of urdu. Same view were expressed by the Prof. Mula Baksh. |
