Awareness Programme on Human Rights organised at RGMCE

KATHUA, Dec 20: With the purpose of fostering the spirit of nationalism, Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Kathua organised an awareness programme on the topic- "Human Rights and their Relevance in Today's World". The Chief Guest of the occasion was Former Minister Babu Singh. Other present on the Occasion were Pankaj Dogra, Dr Bandana Bhasin (Principal), Dr. Davinder Kumar along with faculty members and students. The programmed was started with lighting of lamp by all the dignities Dr Bandana Basin principal of RGMCE presented bouquet to the Chief Guest Babu Singh. Pankaj Dogra extended a worm welcome to the Chief Guest Babu Singh.
Babu Singh deliberated on Human Rights. He added that Human Right concept is the idea that all the people should be able to live with equality, dignity and respect. Violation of Human Rights amounts to violation of humanity. He also added that it is important that the youth must voice their concern against Human Rights violation. Youth is the biggest factor of change in our society. So they should come forward to understand various Human Rights concerns and develop the right approach in maintaining dignity of their own self and others.
Anita Sharma Assistant Professor of RGMCE also deliberated on the topic and highlighted the violation of human rights at the National as well as International level by quoting the scenario of various cultures. A memento was presented to the chief guest Babu Singh by Pankaj Dogra and staff of college. The Programme was conducted by Deepika Jasrotia, Assistant Professor of RGMCE.
