KPC urges govt to take humanitarian view of displaced KP youth | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 24: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) in a meeting today at New Delhi stated that the Displaced KP youth stand badly affected as their present and future is very dark given the fact that the successive rulers of the J&K and the centre did not take any meaningful steps to ameliorate the lot of these unfortunate youths of the KP displaced community. They stand alienated, forlorn, dejected and frustrated with bleak chances of their rehabilitation and employment as the lack of employment opportunities to these youths is the main problem confronting them. No doubt in 2008 previous government at the center had announced employment and rehabilitation plan for the displaced KP youths, but that was much political and less welfare in nature. It was announced and launched with much fanfare but in reality it was not implemented in the spirit in which it was envisaged. Some half hearted measures for this much talked package were taken, which did not deliver much. Kundan Kashmiri, President KPC said, if center government would have been really much concerned for the victim displaced KP youths it should have absorbed these victim displaced unemployed youths in the central department and other undertakings through a special drive as well as by providing reservation to them for the sake of natural justice and fair play. He appealed centre and J&K Lt Governor administration to take humanitarian view of the entire situation of KP youths which include unemployed as well as overage youths and to take earnest steps to pave way for their employment and rehabilitation at the earliest. |
