Jammu, Dec 24: The valedictory function of the two week interdisciplinary refresher course on "Modern Indian Languages" organized by UGC-HRDC and P.G. Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu was held today. The course commenced on 11th Dec 2019 in the Kshmendra Sabhagar of Sanskrit Department. Prof. Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University Jammu, the Chief Guest on the occasion lighted the traditional lamp in presence of Prof. Shohab Innayat Malik, Prof. Ved Kumari Ghai, Prof. Ram Pratap, Prof. Ramnika Jalali, Prof. Sushma Devi and Prof. Ram Bahadur Shukla Head Sanskrit and course coordinator of Refresher Course. While speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dhar termed the participants as the ambassador of University in Jammu in particular and J&K in general. Kind of enthusiasm participants expressed in Sanskrit, Urdu, Punjabi, Dogri, English, Hindi, Arabic and Persian languages in this refresher course, itself speaks of varied interest of the participants, said Prof Dhar. Vice-Chancellor also distributed certificates amongst the successful candidates. Earlier, Vedic Mangalacharan and Saraswati vandana was presented by Scholars of the department. Guest of honor Prof. Ved Kumari Ghai said that Sanskrit is the Mother of all languages and we have to improve it. Prof. Shohab Innayat Malik, Dean faculty of Arts in his welcome address lauded the efforts of HoD Sanskrit, Prof. Ram Bahadur Shukla. |
