Jammu, Jan 4: Condemning stone pelting at Gurudwara in Nankana Sahib, Pakistan by a rowdy mob and threatening of Sikhs living there, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Executive Member, Raman Suri, today said that the horrible side of Pakistan, where minorities are tortured badly, stands exposed. This was the reason Indian Government brought the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), over which Congress is playing politics. In his statement issued here Raman Suri said, India completely extends its support to the historic Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 brought in by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Government in order to ensure justice to the religiously persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. "The entire world saw yesterday's videos streaming from Pakistan and this is yet another eye-opener for the world, which proves the legitimacy and the necessity of CAA," Raman Suri said, adding that minorities were never safe in Pakistan, which is why maximum temples and Gurudwaras belonging to Hindus, Sikhs and Jains stand demolished and abandoned in Pakistan. He said that minorities had been facing tortures daily, and this was the reason that even Congress, time and again supported CAA, but now that it's a law to help the minorities, Congress is opposing it tooth and nail only to gain political foothold. CAA, Raman Suri said, is about giving citizenship to persecuted refugees and not about taking anyone's citizenship away. |
