Night temperature improves in Jammu, snow, rain expected in J&K, Ladakh UTs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 4: The night temperature has improved in the winter capital of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir while the weatherman has predicted light to moderate rain and snow in the coming days. A MeT section official here on Saturday said that the minimum temperature in Jammu, which was around 2.5 degrees, has improved and was recorded 7 degrees on the intervening night. He further said, "As expected, light snowfall of 2-5 inches occurred at many places of Kashmir, hilly areas of Jammu and on higher reaches of Ladakh". "Weather likely to remain generally cloudy in both UTs on Saturday with chances of light rain and snow over hills," he added and said that the minimum Temperature at Stakna in Leh was recorded minus 20, at Srinagar minus 0.1 and at Jammu it was 7 degrees. He further said that for next one week, as of now, it looks like, a spell of widespread light to moderate snowfall during January 6-7 and there is no warning.
