PCB conducts public hearing for environmental clearance | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 6: Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Board (PCB) conducted public hearing for the Environmental Clearance for Minor Mineral (River Bed Material) projects at Bein River Teh Ghagwal District Samba for four Blocks namely 4/1 Badla, 4/2 Rei, 4/3 Tapyal and 4/4 Chak Raghu today in compliance to the notification issued by Ministry of Environment and Forest Govt. of India. The penal for said public hearing comprised of Dr Sayed Nadeem Hussain Regional Director Pollution Control Board, Ritu Mahajan SDM Ghagwal (representative of District Magistrate Samba) and Angraze Singh Divisional Officer PCB Samba South. The public hearing was attended by large number of people including Panchs, Sarpanches of adjoining Panchayats/ villages like Tapyal, Rei, Chack Raghu, Badla, Gagwal, Sararetc, at the onset, Regional Director Pollution Control Board Jammu briefed the public present about the importance of conducting public hearing. Various issues with relate to the said mining were raised and discussed by the general public during the course of proceedings. All the issues raised were discussed in thread bare and the queries raised were answered in detail by Anand Gupta consultant of project proponent from M/S Globus Environment Engineering Services. The proceedings of public hearing were recorded by videography and the public was assured to incorporate their genuine suggestions in the report to be sent to State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) for grant of the Environment Clearance. |
