Congress condemns JNU incident | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 6: Strongly condemning the attack by certain goonda’s on the students and inmates of Girls Hostel in JNU last evening JKPCC has expressed great concern over the culture of violence is taking over the atmosphere of debates and discussion promoted in this country during last seven decades. Reacting to the incident of violence and attack in JNU Campus last evening, the JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has said that this is an act of gundaism and open assault on the democratic culture of debate and discussion promoted and encouraged in JNU and other university campuses. This is a culture of ‘might is right’ being encouraged and facilitated by the obvious forces to overtake the democratic culture of discussion and debate established on the highest seeds of learning in this country by the Congress party and other such stalwarts during past seven decades of freedom. Sharma regretted that the country which was recognized and acknowledged as a place of non-violence in the World and the UNO celebrates the birth day of Mahatma Gandhi as International Non Violence Day because under his great leadership India had attained freedom from the mighty rulers in a non violent struggle is today adopting the culture of violence to suppress the rival ideology and voice of decent over issues of governance. He said that time has come for every right thinking person in the society to condemn violence and reject the forces especially the ideology which promotes violence in order to preserve and protect our culture of non violence in the largest democracy in the World.
