KATHUA, Jan 31: Labour Department Kathua today organized one day awareness camps at District Employment and Counselling centre to aware the common masses regarding Labour laws and the benefits of different welfare schemes. Deputy Labour Commissioner Kanta Devi was the chief guest on the occasion. Assistant Director Employment, Employment Officer, Legal Officer ICPS, Amit Banotra (DEO), Labour Officer and large number of people participated in the programme. Assistant Labour Commissioner, Sapna welcomed the chief guest and appraised the gathering about various acts and beneficial schemes of the department During the awareness programme people were informed regarding Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Man Dhan Yojna and J&K Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Other distinguished speakers also informed people regarding the benefits of registering under J&K Building and other construction workers welfare Board, PMSYM and rights of a worker under different labour laws, Gratuity act and ESIC, Minimum wages Act etc. Registration cards under PMSYM and J&K Building and other construction workers Act were distributed on the occasion. An amount of Rs 7, 82,000/- was also disbursed under Lower Education Assistance scheme. Deputy Labour Commissioner urged people to enroll themselves under these beneficial schemes and also assured them of organizing such camps on regular basis for the benefit of people at large. |
