Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Jan 31: Due to the recent heavy snowfall across the Kashmir valley, most of the far flung areas of border districts of north Kashmir are still cut off from rest of the country.
Sources informed early times that, there are people that are living near the Line of Control (LoC) are still cut off from their district and thesil headquarters and simultaneously with rest of the country.
There are scores of villages in north Kashmir districts like, Teetwal, Tad, Chamkoote, Pingla Haridal, Nowangabra, Dildar, Khawarporra, likewise Lilham, Nihama, Pinjru in Handwara area, said sources. Sources said that the same situation is of other areas like Manchi, Trikanjan, Banali, Chotali, and Mayan in Uri area of Baramulla district, while as there are many forest areas of Rafiabad that are still cut off from the district headquarters. Irshad Ahmad from Banali said that, “the recent snow has got accumulated on their roads and with the result it gives tough times to locals to walk by foot, while as administration has made several efforts to put through these roads but they failed to clear the snow properly”.
Fact of the matter is that these roads are falling in the forest areas due to which the concerned authorities have failed to clear the roads, and measures were also taken up to keep these roads open for the general public, said a local resident of Banali. He further said that, “People that were out of station cannot visit to their homes and they have been staying with their relatives, and friends in Jammu or Delhi, adding machines were pressed into service but the base layers of snow was not cleared yet”. Farooq Ahmad from Dildar Kupwara told ET, that government has failed to bring any kind of relief whatsoever for the people that are living in the border areas as according to him that they are the worst sufferers so for.
We have been plunged into darkness, electricity remains on and off for hours together, it was needed in these months but the PDD is also least bothered about our miseries that we are facing on daily basis, informed Farooq Ahmad.
It is pertinent to mention here that, the people are continuously suffering whenever the heavy snowfall occurs in Kashmir division, especially the people that are living in border areas or close to the LoC.
