Villagers fear animal attacks

Udhampur, Jan 31: People of village Satrari in tehsil Majalta here are living in constant fear of a beast which many times ventures into their residential areas. Rakesh Kumar—a local of the village Satrari told to early times reporter Ashwani sharma that a tiger has ventured into the forest near their hamlet and villagers are living in constant fear of it.
He further said that in morning while people move towards the city for attending their offices or for some other purposes many a times they see the tiger roaring en-route.
He said that with great difficulty these commuters save themselves by hiding themselves in bushes or on trees etc.
Another villager of panic hit hamlet— Romesh kumar said that the entire area is under panic and people are worried about the safety of their children as they have to go up and down to their schools on foot by moving through dense forest areas. He also said that the villagers are also worried about the safety of their livestock.
Surinder said that it is high time for the wildlife authorities and forest department to take some strong steps and ensure safety of the villagers and their livestock from the beast but we are every time scared of there due to panic of tiger is continue of their area .
He said that some nomads in the area have also complained about lifting of their sheep and goats by the tiger. He also said that it appears that the concerned authorities are in deep slumber and will awake after the beast triggers some tragedy in the area.
Still many more villagers said that a wild and ferocious animal should be kept away from human habitations to save precious human lives. When contacted wildlife range officer mansar sanjeev kumar and he said that I don’t know about this but I will surly sending the team Tomorrow for Checking.
