Kathua, Jan 31: Excise Department destroyed about 10 litres of illicit liquor & 3700 Kgs of Lahan during different raids carried out for three consecutive days to arrest the menace of illicit distillation and sale of liquor in Excise Range Kathua.
On the directions of the Excise Commissioner Mr Bhupinder Kumar and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu S. Amarjeet Singh, a joint team of Excise Range Kathua & Enforcement Wing Jammu comprising of E.T.O Mohd Rafie Naik, E.T.O Virender Kumar, Inspectors Excise Razi Ahmad, Arun Kumar, Sushil Khajuria, Aman Sharma, Anil Sharma, SI Amit Sharma, Bodhraj Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Karamat Ali, Naveen Sharma & Excise Guards Jyoti Prakash Sharma, Vikas Baboria, Varun Sharma & Shabaz Khan raided the Muthi Jaggir, Barnoti, Buddhi Sunjwan, Persochak, Kangdyal, Mirpur Jaggu, Mahi Chakdrab, Saktachak & Chibbachak areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process about 10 litres of illicit liquor & 3700 Kgs of Lahan raw material of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health was recovered by the raiding team from state land & later destroyed on spot. |
