SWD distributes 41000 cheque per head under the state marriage scheme

MANDI, Jan 31: The Social Welfare deptt Mandi distributed cheque for 31 girls under the state marriage scheme, The Department has begun the process of providing monetary assistance to women from poor families for marriage.Under this State scheme, would be provided as monetary assistance to a poor girl .
They said girls belonging to Below Poverty Line and who have attained the age of 18 years and are eligible for the marriage are being registered with the department through Anganwadi Centers to avail the benefits under the scheme for their marriage expenses and cost of 5 gm Gold to those marriageable girls whose families are facing dire financial constraints. The newly sanction sanctioned cases included 100 girl in tehsil mandi in which 32 girls were given cheque today.
Meanwhile different panchayat of tehsil mandi , panchayat Azamabad, Panchayat Dunogaam, panchayat Chool were given the cheque certificate. The scheme is a social assistance scheme meant for those unmarried identified girls of the state living below poverty line, who may not find themselves in a position to marry due to financial constraints, Rather said. Block development chairperson (BDC) Mr Shamim Ganai, Tehsildar mandi javaid iqbal, sarpanch mandi mubashar banday, sarpnach chool azeem and other cenior citizens were present on the occasion.
