JAMMU, Jan 31: Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr Pawan Kotwal, today asked District Development Commissioners to expedite the construction of Registrar and Sub-Registrar offices, for which the funds have already been made available. The FC was chairing a meeting to review the functioning of the Revenue Department in districts and progress made in creation of the infrastructure for newly established office of Registrar and Sub-Registrars. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan; Additional Inspector General of Registration Jammu, Rashpal Singh; Registrars of Udhampur, Kathua and Samba-Satish Kumar Sharma, Suresh Chander Sharma and Dr. Subhash Chander, while all other Deputy Commissioners of J&K UT, along with ADCs attended the meeting through video conferencing. Dr. Kotwal directed all the DCs to design the Registrar and Sub-Registrar offices with the provision for all facilities and modern record rooms, so that officials do not face any difficulty in the process of registration of documents of the people.
