Inter School Debate Competition organized

Jammu, Jan 31: The Tribune Inter School Debate Competition has been organized in RM Public School in which various schools including APS Ratnuchak, BSF Senior Secondary School Paloura, Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar, Shiksha Niketan High School Gandhi Nagar, RM Public School Sainik Colony, APS Miran Sahib and Carmel Convent School Kunjwani participated in the debate “Is India facing an economic slowdown?”
Sanjeev Kumar Divisional Commissioner Jammu was the chief guest where as Rameshwar Mengi was the guest of honour.
The Tribune family members Arun Joshi-Senior Resident Editor, Pankaj Sharma-Advt.Deptt.Chandigarh, VIney Dutta, Mukesh Sharma, and Inderjeet Singh-Photo Journalist were also present there.
Arteev Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Dinesh Manhotra, SDM Shri Kant and Sumit Hakoo from the Editorial staff of the Tribune family were also present there. Prof. Vikram Singh- MAM College and Prof. Sujata Salathia-GWC Gandhi Nagar were the judges to judge the participants.
Bharat Bhushan and Raj Kumar from the Circulation Department were also a part of the competition.
All the guests and participants were welcomed by the Principal Ravinder Kour, Trustee Rita Mengi and the Incharges of RM Public School. Some cultural items were also staged by the students of RM Public School. Participants from each school have spoken in favour as well as against the topic.
Anshul Verma of BSF Senior Secondary School was the first winner and got a cheque of Rs. 5000.Kritika Sambyal of Carmel Convent was the Ist runner up and got a cheque of Rs. 4000. A cheque of Rs.2500 was given to Aman Sharma of BSF Sr. Sec. School for getting the 2nd runner up position.
Three consolation cheque prizes of Rs.1800 each were given to Chaitanya Basotra of APS Miran Sahib, Arpit Grari of APS Ratnuchak and Jasmeen Kour of Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar.
The prize for the Best School went to BSF Senior Secondary School.
