ADDC reviews progress under various scholarship schemes

UDHAMPUR, Feb 1: Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar today chaired a meeting to review the progress made under various scholarship schemes including pre-metric and post-metric scholarships for Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Economically Backward Classes, Physically Handicapped, De-notified Tribes and Minorities for the academic year 2019-20.
District Social Welfare Officer, Sana Khan, Chief Education Officer, Purshottam Dutt Sharma and all Zonal Education Officers were present in the meeting.
While reviewing the pre-metric scholarships, ADDC asked the concerned to proactively assist the students in completing the requisite formalities especially in regard to Aadhar enrolment and opening of bank accounts to facilitate early disbursement of scholarship amount through Direct Benefit Transfer.
To further facilitate the eligible students in availing benefits of various scholarships, the ADDC asked education officers to submit list of students who require various certificates and documents including Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, Aadhar Numbers and Bank Account Numbers be submitted at an earliest and ensured the expeditious processing of their cases through the concerned authority.
He further informed that special internet kiosks have been opened at DC Office Complex, Offices of SDMs / Tehsildars / BDOs and Community Service Centres which are providing free of cost internet assistance to the eligible students who can visit the premises between 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM and fill their scholarship forms on the portals.
