Amit conducts AIIMS study to replicate best practices in J&K

New Delhi, Feb 1 : Amit Sharma, Administrator GMC & Associated Hospitals, Jammu conducted a study tour of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi this week to study the best practices and recent innovations in the health field in this premier medical institute of the nation so that the same can be replicated in J&K health sector in the near future. This object-oriented and useful visit was conducted at AIIMS, New Delhi under the vision and directions of Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department by Administrator Associated Hospitals Amit Sharma in which he studied the latest innovative practices of AIIMS, New Delhi over the last few days and he conducted an extensive tour of different Centres like Emergency, R.P Eye Centre, Trauma Centre, Cardio-Neuro Centre, Sterile Unit, Kitchen and other important related areas of the Institute.
Amit keenly studied the Centralised model of Patient Reception Centre (PRC) at AIIMS, New Delhi wherein out-patients either get cards for online registrations done in the past or get themselves registered for the same day check-up through Tatkal Counters in PRC. The glaring and impressive fact is that this PRC is developed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) under CSR in which Amit expressed that the same shall be requested to this top corporate house to replicate similar best practice in various health institutes of J&K Union Territory.


Amit also studied the Kiosks which have been installed in all Private and General Wards as well as OPD areas of all Centres which facilitate online and repeat appointments here leading to de-congestion and better queue management in AIIMS.
During the visit, few important presentations were organised for Amit Sharma at AIIMS, New Delhi with the initiative of son of the soil Hospital Administration-expert Dr Shakti Gupta, who has been leading Administrative reforms at AIIMS, New Delhi for almost last two decades. Various departments wherein AIIMS has been awarded for good practices like cleanliness drives, food and quality assurance, online registration and patience convenience, pollution-control measures, etc were deeply-studied by Administrator Amit Sharma alongwith team of Doctors including Dr Vijay Tadia, Dr Jayati Bahuguna, Dr Charan and others.
MHA team and various Duty Officers who work in the Control Centre 24x7x365 to handle all kinds of situations inside the Institute, primarily for handling the varied causes of patients and further mentioned that their expertise can be utilised for replication of AIIMS best practices in the Union Territory of J&K for best patient welfare in the near future.
