| PCB organizes awareness programme | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 11: Pollution Control Board, Udhampur today organized one day awareness camp for implementation of Swachhta Action Plan at village Ballian.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar was the chief guest while President Municipal Council Udhampur Dr. Yogeshwar Gupta was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that the main objective of organizing this camp is to create awareness regarding electronic waste, municipal solid waste, plastic waste and its proper disposal. While highlighting the importance of cleanliness he asked the participants to generate awareness among the common masses regarding cleanliness .He emphasized the role of general public for proper segregation of municipal waste at the household level.
Dr. Yogeshwar Gupta asked the volunteers to generate awareness among the masses and prepare a plan for minimizing the municipal waste in the town. He also stressed on recycle, reuse and reduce of plastic waste. Incharge E-waste MSW J&K PCB, Anuradha Gupta and Ranbir Singh from India Pollution Control Association were the resource persons who sensitized the general masses about the harmful impacts of unscientific management of E-Waste municipal and plastic waste. |
