| Bad condition of roads of Rajouri Poonch irks locals | | | Early Times report
Poonch, Feb 11: The locals of the districts Rajouri and Poonch accused concerned authority as well as the executive agencies for neglecting the roads and looting the tax payers money under the nose of the government. They sought strict action against those who used poor quality materials.
Locals alleged that the some influential get the tenders of the some roads with the help of local Politicians and officials of the department. That’s why they use poor quality material in the roads as result the huge potholes are seen on the roads cause great inconvenience to the users.
“As per officials, it is responsibility of any bidder to maintain the roads if any potholes are seen but no one has dared to ask the bidders about the poor condtions of the roads,” locals quoted officials’ statement.
Locals further added that after completing work of a road once, the bidder never look into the road but as the tender is bring flouted by the concerned department, they start to make lobby to get the tender in the above said area due to which the locals of the area have been facing a lot problems but neither concerned department nor bidder listen the requests made by the locals.
They also alleged that the roads which connect each other have affected the business activities and other activities in the above said district due to callous approach of the concerned authority.
Numbers of times the matter has been taken up with them but nobody here knows why they are doing inordinate delay in completing roads works. |
