Students from economics deptt bring laurels to JU in Artha festival

Jammu, Feb 11: Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu congratulated the students of the University who have brought laurels in the "Mega Fest of Economics" organized by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
As per details, there were different cultural events organized by the Artha Team in which students from various schools, colleges and Universities participated actively. A team comprising of 15 students (10 Girls and 5 Boys) from Department of Economics, University of Jammu outshined in all the events. Students stood first in events namely ‘Be and Economist’, Quiz Wizz’, Artonomics and stood second in informal event namely ‘Bech Bhai Bech’ and gave extraordinary performance in ‘Ecostorme’. The University of Jammu was declared as the Overall Winner of the Rolling Trophy of the Fest.
The festival was inaugurated by India’s foremost research economist, Dr. Arvind Virmani, the former Chief Economic Advisor to Government of India and India’s representative to the advisor to the International Monetary Fund. Sandeep Mittal, General Manager of Human Resource Management Department RBI, Jammu Branch was the guest of honour in the function.
More than 200 Young aspirant students of Economics participated in the Mega Fest from different schools, institutions and colleges of Jammu and Kashmir UT participated in the event.
The students who brought laurels to the University were Rupali Jasrotia, Manik Sharma, Tania Gupta, Mussrat Ara, Paramjeet Singh, Arun Kumar Choudhary, Akeel Kamal, Anees Matoo, Samridhi Gupta, Sabha Firdoos, Ponam Koul, Jhanvi Kapoor, Shreya Gupta, Ayushi Raina and Anchal Sharma. The overall team Coordinators were Manik Sharma and Rupali Jasrotia.
