Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 11: Social & Emergency Response Volunteer (SERV) Instructors' Training concluded here today. The flagship programme was started by Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu region in which teachers 40 Teachers, 4 from each of the 10 districts of Jammu Division participated in this 6 days (SERV) Instructors' Training programme. Main Components of SERV Programme were Master Trainer, Instructors, Social and Emergency Response Volunteers, Community outreach activities. This training covered International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, Role of Red Cross in J&K, use and misuse of Red Cross Emblem, Introduction of SERV programme, basic concepts of Disaster Management, responsibility of a SERV instructor, etc. The Teachers trained from within the community are available to provide immediate support in golden hours till the formal response agencies reach. Theoretical and practical demonstrations were imparted by Dr. Itinder Pal Singh, Master Trainer, First-Aid and the exam was conducted by Dr. Simriti Bias. The training was co-ordinated by Imran, Project Manager and Afroza, First Aid coordinator, IRCS, J&K State Branch. |
