CAD Director conducts tour of Sub Division Supwal to review its functioning

Jammu, Feb 11: In order to ensure assured irrigation to the farmers under Ravi Canal Cad Project, the Director, CAD, Jammu, Smita Sethi made an extensive tour of Sub division Supwal. During the tour the Forlane West A, Karqandhi Kalan, Bamberone, Jogyal villages were assessed in detail.
The Director had interaction with the farmers who expressed their satisfaction of field channels constructed by the CAD, Jammu on the farmer’s field.
The farmers said that the field channels have played a significant role of avoiding loss of water due to percolation & seepage and providing water to the tail end field. The farmers requested for extension of the project for covering more & more area under field channels to ensure assured irrigation to the farmer’s field. Farmers also expressed gratitude for timely payment of the works executed through DBT mode.
The director also interacted with the field Officers, SCAs, Field Assistants and Executors, directed them to ensure quality work in the field and stressed upon working to the satisfaction of the farmers and guiding them technically so that the maximum benefit can be derived by them from the cultivable land to maximise their income.
Jahangir Shafi, Chief Agriculture Officer, CAD, Jammu, Shabir Ahmad Mir, ASCO, Supwal and other field staff also accompanied the Director, CAD, Jammu during the tour.
