Export Awareness Programme organized at ICccR, HRM JU

JAMMU, Feb 28: International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu in collaboration with the Regional Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Jammu organized an Export Awareness Programme under the "Niryat Bandhu Scheme" of Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Government of India.
The Programme was organised with the objective mentoring students in the arena of international business and generate interest amongst students towards understanding the connect between foreign trade and the economic upliftment of our nation.
A.K. Bhushan, Asstt. DGFT, Jammu, during his address, apprised the participants with role of DGFT in international trade. He reflected upon the kind of documentation and procedures necessary for entering into international business and other related issues. He also stressed upon the need for youth to think of entrepreneurship as a career option and explore the possibilities of entering international trade. He, while interacting with the participants, highlighted the relevance of bridging the information gap. He provided the necessary guidance to the participants to update their knowledge in the field of exports and imports alongwith services offered by various agencies of State / Central Government to facilitate the process.
Aruna Narula, Member, Business Excellence Support Team, DGFT, initiated the discussion by addressing upon the Niryat Bandhu Scheme that provides hand handholding to young entrepreneurs under the ambit of which the programme was organized. He provided a detailed insight into the export process and talked about the various Schemes run by DGFT to promote export. Her presentation was on the theme 'Export Procedure and Incentives being extended by DGFT' which also drew attention towards several aspects of international trade including export procedures, documentation, data mining, buyer management, security of payments etc. The participants were also briefed about the various Schemes like Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS), Service Export from India Scheme (SFIS), Advance Authorization Scheme, Export Promotion Capital Goods Scheme (EPCG), etc.
