Srinagar, Feb 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested a Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant in Srinagar, sources said. The arrested militant has been identified as Wakeel Ahmad, a resident of Pazalpora village in south Kashmir’s Bijbihara district. He was arrested from the Bone and Joint Hospital in the city, police sources said. Along with Wakeel Ahmad, three overground workers were also arrested, among them is a girl. One pistol and a grenade has been recovered from their position. Sources said that Wakeel Ahmad had ostensibly come to the hospital for treatment and two women and a man had accompanied him. The four have been taken into custody and are being questioned, they added. Wakeel had disappeared on September 27 last year and had reportedly joined LeT. |
