Rajouri, Feb 29: The illegal use of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purpose has been going on unabated across Rajouri district under the nose of concerned authorities, who have been acting as mute spectators of this brazen violation.
Sources told Early times that most of the business establishments including restaurants, tea shops, hotels etc. have been using domestic LPG cylinders instead of commercial LPG in order to save money. This has resulted into shortage of domestic gas cylinders in the district.
The concerned authorities including Municipal Committee Rajouri, CAPD, Legal Metrology Department, which are enforcement agencies have not doing anything to curb the menace. “The menace of illegal use of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial use has been going on in active connivance with above mentioned agencies, on some ulterior interests,” the locals alleged.
No drive has been launched so for against this malpractice by the departments due to which owners of business establishments have been openly committing the crime. The shortage of LPG cylinders in the district can be attributed to this illegal use of domestic gas cylinder, the locals alleged.
