Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 29: A Joint meeting of Jagti Tenement committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K was held under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president.
During the course of meeting the participants expressed their satisfaction over the welcome step taken by Relief organization (M) Jammu in identifying residential quarters in Jagti migrant campus illegally occupied/allotted depriving the genuine deserving migrants of accommodation facilities.
Shadi Lal Pandita while addressing the participants said that presently about 300 families are residing jointly in Jagti quarters who face of difficulties due to inadequate residential accommodation. He has demanded that those genuine families (Migrant families) who are sharing accommodation in different residential quarters need to be considered sympathetically for allotting such families residential quarters enabling them to accommodate their respective families suitably.
He said that it is true that some migrant families having been allotted residential (TRTs) have not physically taken over the possession of allotted accommodation but have kept locked such quarters and are now selling these quarters.
He demanded a detailed investigation for vacating illegaly occupied quarters and allotting such quarters to genuine and poor migrant families who are putting up in hired accommodation in different places. He said that still 5000 migrant families of Kashmiri Pandit community are still residing in hired accommodation at different places. He had appealed the Lt. Governor Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for getting 5000 TRTs constructed in different migrant colonies/camps for accommodating these migrant families.
