ADDC Ramban reviews implementation

RAMBAN, Feb 29: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Ramban, Nawab Din today reviewed implementation of decentralized policy for procurement of supplementary nutrition for Anganwadi Centre under the Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS) Scheme to bring transparency, accountability and greater involvement of community in the implementation of the nutrition scheme in district Ramban. PO, ICDS, Atam Dev Singh, CDPOs, Sarpanches, Anganwadi Supervisors and other concerned officers and officials were attended the meeting.
ADDC directed the Procurement Committees to strictly ensure procurement of nutrition items as per recipe menu formulated by the Recipe Committee for all Anganwadi Centres.
He further directed them that all the items shall be preferably procured from Super Bazaar, Cooperative Stores, Fixed Price Shops or Registered Local Shop keepers on the rates not exceeding the rates notified by FCS&CA.
The new policy has been framed as per the delegation of powers of Panchayati Raj Institutions under the amended Panchayati Raj Act. Under the revised policy, supplementary nutrition shall be procured at Halqa Panchayat and Municipal Ward level.
ADDC directed the Supervisors to submit monthly physical verification report of stock and office record to their concerned CDPO for further action.
He impressed upon the officers and officials of department to work under coordination with PRIs to bring transparency and overall improvement in services given to children at Centres.
