Srinagar, Mar 1: Two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant were arrested by security forces in this summer capital, a police spokesperson said here on Sunday. He said following specific information, security forces intercepted a vehicle on Barzulla-Chanapora road in uptown Srinagar. “During checking, police recovered arms and ammunition, including a pistol and a grenade,” he said. The police spokesperson said the accused were later identified as Vakeel Ahmad and Omar Ismail Dar, both resident of Bijbehara in Anantnag. Earlier, it was reported that Vakeel was arrested from Bones and Joint Hospital in Srinagar on Saturday evening where he was getting treatment. According to the police records, the both the accused are active militants affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT. “Both the militants have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody,” he said. |
