3/1/2020 11:08:59 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 1: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Finance Minister and Minister of State to release the pending instalments of 4 per cent DA due from January 1, 2020 for both central/states government, UTs employees and pensioners in view of increasing inflation and prices hike of essential commodities.
“The rate of compensation was revised every six months based on average of the consumer price index for previous months and this would be the 7th biannual increase since the recommendation of the 7th pay commission which was accepted by the Central Government in 2016.” Subash Shastri said this while addressing a well attended NMC workers meet at Gandhi Nagar in Jammu city here.
He urged them to accept the recommendations of the long pending report of the Ashok Lavasa Committee to remove pay/pension anomalies in the lower grade staff of both central/state government services and pensioners, so that lower class employees and pensioner would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation. A high power committee headed by former Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa was constituted for removing pay/pension anomalies in respect of lower grade pay of staff in different categories and pensioners by the Central government in July 2016.
Among other who were also spoke on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Gara Ram, Suraj Parkash, Darshan Baba, Madan Lal Bhagat, Sukhdev Singh, Mushtaq Ahmed, Lal Singh, J.P. Sharma and several others.
