Early Times Report KATRA, Mar 5: Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib today conducted an emergency meeting to discuss preventive measures against Corona Virus in the district, here at Spiritual Growth Centre. Hoteliers, traders, transporters and other eminent citizens of the town were invited in the meeting to acquaint them about the precautions. Chief Medical Officer, Dr PS Thakur briefed the meeting about the virus, its carriers and precautions. It was told that the symptoms are similar to common flu like runny nose, sore throat and fever. The Deputy Commissioner stressed that owing to inflow of pilgrims from all over the world to Katra Township, there is need to take extra extra precautions. It was informed that an isolation ward has already been set up in CHC Katra. The administration is also spreading awareness among the taxi operators, trade and hotel employees. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has also initiated sensitisation activity at ticket booking counters at Katra, while Hotels have been directed to keep record of the visitors coming from abroad, the meeting was told. |
