J&K LG launches ‘Student Health Card’, | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 5: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu on Thursday stressed on role of school going children in spreading awareness on coronavirus and other diseases. Murmu in his address after launching ‘Student Health Card’ here said, “the role of school children is important in spreading awareness about the measures to avoid the corona virus”. He said that school children can be made guides/messengers in fighting such diseases. The ‘Health Card’ scheme launched by the Lieutenant Governor will be issued to nearly 12 lakh students studying in government schools in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. At the same time, the Lieutenant Governor said that the corona virus is a major threat in the country and the world as well and in such a situation, students studying in schools can prove to be helpful for the society and the family. Murmu said, “these students should be briefed about the treatment of all such diseases that are currently spreading and made aware of how to prevent its infection so that the students can make their families aware of these methods further.” He also added that if these students are informed about sanitation, hygiene and health condition from time to time, then this awareness will reach to their families and the whole society will be made aware of the ways to fight such epidemics. Meanwhile the programme was organized by Directorate of Mid Day Meal in association with Directorate of National Health Mission. The initiative will benefit the students from class first to 12th studying in all government schools across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir under which the students will be examined twice a year under “Rashtriya Bal Swashtya Karyakram”. |
