DLSA organises Bol Sakhi

JAMMU, Mar 7: District Legal Services Authority, Samba organised a special programme “Bol Sakhi” to mark the observance of “International Women’s Day” at District Court Complex, Samba today. On the occasion, a Women Talk was held for the Lady Judicial Officers Advocates, staff members, Teachers of various Schools and PLVs of Samba on the topic “Women’s Rights-Violence against Women”.
“Bol Sakhi” is a DLSA Samba initiative for synergising various stake holders in the process of empowerment of women and to highlight the challenges and existing barriers in the development of women. It encourages women to speak up on issues faced by them and simultaneously making efforts to find a meaningful solution.
The programme was attended by Judicial officers of the District, Doctors, members of Child Welfare Committee, Samba, Advocates, Teachers, staff members, PLVs, among others.
Secretary DLSA, Samba Swati Gupta conducted the programme through personal and audio visual interface highlighting the various kinds of violence and abuses being faced by women. Special session was held on sexual harassment of women at work places and the ways and means to combat it.
The audience actively participated in the programme by sharing their individual views on the topic.
