Early Times Report

Anantnag, Mar 7: Female students of a government school in this South Kashmir district today accused their teachers of insulting them by restoring to abusive behavior and name-calling.
The female students along with the parents held a protest demonstration against the teachers inside Deputy Commissioner’s Office and sought ‘stringent’ action against the teachers.
“They (teachers) resort to name-calling and threaten us of not allowing us to sit in annual examinations with regular batch,” a female student told media. She alleged that the teachers were leveling baseless allegations against female students and were restoring to abusive behavior.
“Our parents sent us to the school so that we can learn some manners but here the situation is completely different. Height of things is that the teachers themselves resort to name-calling and call us by different names. They (teachers) are insulting us therefore, we request the higher officials of the department to intervene and take action against them,” she added.
Female students alleged that the teachers weren’t allowing them to talk to male classmates. “They (teachers) are leveling baseless allegations against us and even we aren’t being allowed to talk to our classmates,” they alleged
Parents of female students also expressed anguish against the teachers and sought action against them. “Is government paying teachers so that they level baseless allegations against our wards,” they said, adding those teachers with negative mentality must be dismissed.
Chief Education Officer Anantnag, Rouf Shad told Early Times that he will enquire the matter. “We will enquire the matter and if the allegations of students are proved correct action against teachers will taken,” he assured.
