DODA, Mar 7: Department of Zoology GDC Doda celebrated National Science Day 2020. Principal Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi presided over the event. Science Technology and Innovation Council , Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of J&K sponsored the whole event. The program began with the introductory speech of HOD Zoology Dr Ajaz A Wani. Principal also spoke on the occasion highlighting the role of woman in science. He encouraged the students particularly female candidates to be an active contributor to the field of science. He also lauded the role of Department of Zoology for carrying out such wonderful events. Symposium on the topic of ''Woman as an entrepreneur in the field of Science and Technology in present scenario'' was the main program of the day. Many students participated in the symposium and highlighted the role of woman as an entrepreneur in science. A short skit/Play after sympoum was also part of the program. Then prize cum certificate distribution was carried out.
Meenakshi Devi, Suhail Bashir and Priyanka Devi were adjudged as first, second and third in essay writing competition whereas Kousar Ishaq lone, Ramiz Ahmed and Paryag Kumari got first, second and third prizes in painting competition. Essay writing and painting competitions were carried out a day before and were adjudged by Prof. Bashir Ahmed, Dr Jamsheed Ahmed , Prof. Ankush Raj and Dr. Aslam Rather, prof. Mohd Younis with Dr Manish Thakur .
