DIC organises debate on “Women Empowerment”

RAMBAN, Mar 7: District Information Centre (DIC) Ramban today organized a debate competition on the topic of “Women Empowerment “at National Academy Secondary School, Ramban as a part of weeklong celebration of International Womens’ Day.
Principal of the host school Falak Naz was the chief guest while senior journalist Tahir Mushtaq was guest speaker on the occasion and Mohd Aslam, other staff member and students also present during the function.
The programme was started with a deliberation on measures to combat Corona virus and principal asked the students to not panic. She appealed them for taking due care of personal hygiene and sanitation and follow precautions suggested by the Health department to prevent the virus. He asked the public not to pay any heed to rumors. In the debate competition Danish Sohil adjudged overall best while Ankush Singh and Razia Mir clinched 2nd and 3rd respectively.
As many as, 15 students of different classes participated in the debate competition. The debaters forcefully argued on the subject and educated students about the importance of Women Empowerment.
While appreciating the role of Information Department for educating the masses especially students about women empowerment, the chief guest, highlighted various issues pertaining to women empowerment besides suggesting several measures to strengthen women in every field and in all aspects.
Principal also impressed upon the students to take part in extra circular activities for their overall development apart from their study.
Besides competition, a colourful cultural programme was also presented by the artists and students. Later, certificates and trophies were distributed among the best performers and participants. The stage was ably hosted by Richa Parihar and Ruqiah Yousuf.
