Medical shops start fleecing people, napkins, masks, sanitiser rates touch sky | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 7: As Government took various measures for prevention of Corona virus in J&K UT and Health and Medical Education Department issuing advisories to people regarding precautionary measures, but the Government has failed to have check on market especially medical shops. According to sources the prices of use and throw masks have been hiked more than double while usable masks are sold on very high rates. Same is the case with napkins and sanitizers as black marketing of these items has started in the UT due to lack on check on the part of Government, sources added. Sources said an artificial scarcity has been created of all these items in the market by floating rumors to make people panicky. Some people having vested interest and want that they should turn the situation to their advantage are also making the rumors about Corona virus viral to make common masses panicky, sources added. Sources said a lot of rush is seen on medical shops with people in mad race to purchase napkins, sensitizers and masks. Some druggists are straight way refusing that these items are out of stock so that the customer will be forced to pay more price, sources added. Sources said the Government which is supposed to keep these items on basis of warfooting has failed to do the same in last one week since reports about Corona virus go viral. The people are totally panicky in the UT and there is no proper guidance available to them that which measure the people should take to keep the virus at Bay. functions every where Sources said on one hand Government is advising people not to have gatheings and visit crowded places but on the othrer Government is itself organising public funcions.
