Giving region wise breakup, he said "We were supplying 1300 MW to Kashmir region before the restrictions to meet the power demand. Similarly, he informed in Jammu region the PDD department was supplying 850 MW before lockdown to meet the power demand which is reduced to 650 MW post lockdown. "The power demand is reduced post lockdown because many manufacturing units are closed in Jammu and Kashmir but the government has adopted a casual attitude toward its customers. The casual attitude of the government can be gauged from fact the government has not even extended the bill payment dates instead asked costumers to submit online," an said. "We have taken up the issue with the government. We urged the government to extend the date for the payment of power bill for the month of Feb 2020 and exempt the Industrial Units from the payment of minimum charges and fixed demand charges for the closed units as well as to the units working with a minimum capacity," an another Industrial said. |
