AAP greets people on Baisakhi | | | Early Times Report Jammu, April 12: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and social activist Gurmeet Singh greeted the people of J&K in general and the Sikhs across the world in particular on the eve of Baisakhi. Gurmeet Singh said that Baisakhi comes with the message of love, humanity and brotherhood. He said that Baisakhi is considered to be the new year for lakhs of people in North India and it is hoped that this new year brings peace, prosperity and compassion to the whole world. Singh appealed to the people especially Sikhs arround the world to maintain social distancing on the occasion of Baisakhi as per the directions issued by the respective Governments. Social distancing is the only way to combat the spread of coronavirus, he said. Singh said on the festival of Baisakhi, which also marks the foundation day of Khalsa Panth, the Sangats visit Gurudwara Sahibs. But the present situation is not conducive to assemble at Gurdwaras due to the threat of Covid-19. He appealed to the Sangat to avoid vast gatherings and offer their prayers from home only on the occasion of Baisakhi. |
