Aftab Zakir urges LG to bring stranded residents back home | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Apr 15: Social Activist Aftab Zakir urged the J&K UT Governor, GC Murmu to make necessary arrangements for bringing back hundreds of stranded residents stuck in Srinagar, Jammu, Delhi and various other parts of the country. He stressed the fact that the situation of the stranded residents are dire as most are either elderly aged residents who are not used to the humid summer heat waves of the plains or are students and most are outside chenab Valley either due to health reasons and to avoid the severe winter complications of their native places. He also stressed the fact that most residents are staying in rent accommodations especially students with temporary arrangements for 3-4 months and cannot prolong their stay on account of innumerable reasons and most have exhausted their recourses with each day adding to their woes. He also urged government to formulate a time bound strategy to evacuate the stranded residents before the holy month of Ramazan as statistically most of the residents are Covid negative up untill now and would be much safer in native home DISTRICT owing to the successful containment measures of the government there.
