JAMMU, Apr 15: In order to spread the mass awareness about the importance of using masks, the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR) in Kishtwar District has expedited the process of making masks and their distribution. To fast track the distribution of masks, the department is involving the subordinate staff and the PRIs with an aim to provide them to each and every person in all the 136 Panchayats of Kishtwar District free of cost. As per the details available with Early Times, out of one lakh target, 58900 masks have been prepared so far and simultaneously were distributed among the people in 13 blocks of Kishtwar District. Speaking to Early Times, Kapil Deol, BDO Drabshalla, holding additional charge of BDO Trigam said that out of target of distributing 12000 masks in Drabshalla block having 19 Panchayats, 8000 masks have been procured and distributed among the people while in Trigam block having 6 Panchayats, out of 4000 targeted masks, 3500 have been distributed among the locals through PRIs. He said that remaining 4000 masks in Drabshalla and 500 masks in Trigam block will be procured in next two days. He said that all the masks were prepared locally through unemployed women tailors adding that GRS, VLWs and other staff of the department played vital role in preparing and distribution of masks on war footing b. He said that as per the directions of Commissioner Secretary Sheetal Nanda, Director RDD&PR Jammu Sudarshan Kumar and ACD Kishtwar Kishore Singh Chib, no individual will have to be left without masks. Similarly 2000 masks were distributed in Marwah Block against 8000 targeted, Dachhan (6000 distributed, 2000 pending), Palmar (2100 distributed, 900 pending), Mughal Maidan (8000 distributed, 3000 pending), Nagsini (8000 distributed, 1000 pending), Padder (3500 distributed, 6500 pending), Inderwal (4500 distributed, 3500 pending), Bhunzwah (5900 distributed, 2100 pending), Warwan (2000 distributed, 2000 pending), Kishtwar (4000 distributed, 6000 pending) and Thakrie (1400 distributed, 3600 pending). |
