RAJOURI, Apr 21: Social distancing, which has been acknowledged by the entire world as the best defence against the COVID-19, was nowhere visible in this frontier district on Tuesday when some government officials distributed essentials among the BPL families.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, along with other officers this morning visited some ration depots in the city to reach out to the needy. "But no one paid any attention to social distancing," said a witness.
He said that the DC himself gave free ration to some families. "Officials were seen distributing rations by standing next to each other. Even people who had come to collect the essentials were also seen standing close to each other," the witness added. |
