Following the incident, the demand for not opening the historical Mughal Road has now again gaining momentum. Sources told Early Times that few days ago, a person was arrested by the police who crossed Mughal Road and reached Surankote clandestinely by violating lockdown, thereby creating threat of coronavirus among the people of Poonch and Rajouri. They said that the incident has justified the demand of local people of not opening up of Mughal Road as it can create more problems. The locals questioned the vigilance of police over the movement of people, who have been trying to travel illegally to reach to the Kashmir or vice versa. "It is very shocking that police could not locate the movement of this alleged person, who travelled such a long distance and reached Poonch via Mughal road, which stunned the entire police when a lockdown is being followed strictly," they said.
