‘Influential’ teachers likely to face music as Samoon decides to take on ‘Edu mafia’ | Many teachers never posted outside municipal limits | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 22: The influential teachers, for whom city schools are ‘leisure centres’ are likely to face the music because Principal Secretary School Education, Dr Asagar Hassan Samoon has decided to take on the mafia operating in the Education Department. “Some Govt officials posted in hr sec schools managed to overstay for a decade in Sgr/ Jmu cities in league with x politicians; they run private tuitions & side businesses; they should be shifted to break their nexus with land mafia & to give them exposure to remote areas!”, Dr Samoon tweeted and this tweeted has sent a wave of terror among those influential teachers who have never served outside Jammu or Srinagar cities. Credible sources said Dr Samoon has already collected lists of all influential teachers who have been posted in city throughout their service in the Education Department. It is open secret that most of the school situated within municipal limits are still over-staff and many teachers belong to influential families have managed their postings in these approachable school. Shockingly most of these over-staff schools have been delivering zero percent results in matriculations and class 12th examinations during the last so many years. Most of schools situated within municipal limits, except a few, have always delivered very poor results despite the fact that highly qualified teachers, belong to influential families, have been posted in these schools to teach poor students who could not afford education in private schools. Government schools in Jammu city are an indicator of the dismal education scenario in the state where government schools have virtually turned into ‘leisure centres’ for teachers belong to influential families. |
