Mendhar, April 25: The stranded migrant labourers staged protest against who are staying at Mendhar in Poonch district had packed their bags in this hope that they will be able to return home, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a televised address to the country, extended the national lockdown till May 3, they broke down. Some construction workers in the Mendhar area hail from Punjab, MP other states have been stuck in a camp in Mendhar ever since the sudden imposition of the lockdown. “We thought this will be over on 14th and they will go home. They have no idea how their family back at home is. Food is a problem here. People in the camp are getting impatient and frustrated now,” they said. Later Tehasildar Mendhar Dr Vikram Kumar along with Naib Tehasildar Ashfaq Ahmed reached and assured them all possible help. |
