J&K Govt amends lockdown guidelines, permits standalone, neighbourhood shops to open | Malls, restaurants, eateries, bars, saloons to remain closed | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 25: Soon after Ministry of Home Affairs announced to open stand-alone shops and some other establishments across the country, Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday made certain amendments in the consolidated revised guidelines related to the on-going COVID-lockdown. An order issued by the J&K Chief Secretary B V R Subramanyam late this evening stated that the amendments permit inclusion of some more commercial and private establishments in the list of permissible activities during the period of lockdown. In rural areas eateries with sit-in facilities, cinema halls, malls, restaurants, parlours, saloons, gymnasiums, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places and shops and establishments in single-brand and multi-brand Malls won’t be allowed to operate, the order said, adding that all other shops can operate but these will be permitted to open with local arrangements on timing, spacing for ensuring physical distancing. In urban areas the order stated that all standalone shops, neighbourhood shops and shops in residential complexes can operate but these have to follow the social distancing norms. The order stated that eateries with sit-in facilities, cinema halls, malls, restaurants, parlours, saloons, gymnasiums, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places have not been permitted to operate. The order further stated that shops in malls, markets (with clusters of shops take Bazaars) and market complexes won’t operate. The order stated that the permissible shops selling essential items the groceries, fruits, vegetables, bakeries, etc. can function in urban areas. |
