Man sneaks into Jammu from Kashmir, sent to quarantine | | | RAJESH TANDON EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 25: A man from Kashmir region, who had sneaked into Jammu few days ago, has been sent to quarantine centre by police for 14 days. Sources told Early Times that the man was caught in by the police team led by Sub Inspector Kali Charan and was taken to IIT Paloura quarantine centre. As per information, the alleged person reached Jammu on April 18, 2020 from Qazigund of Kashmir in a truck in sheer violation of COVID-19 lockdown. Initial reports of alleged person are showing him of COVID-19 negative. Several local residents of the area questioned that how it is possible that a person reaches Jammu from Kashmir when strict restrictions on movement of people are at place adding that all illegal transportation activities being carried out by truckers need to be scrutinized. “It is bit surprising that a man was able to land at Jammu far across from Kashmir when there are numerous police nakas on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. It shows the level of monitoring,” the people said. “Liquor is also being transported illegally in Jammu through trucks while people are sneaking into Jammu through trucks, which seriously raise question on the police and others,” the locals alleged. When Early Times contacted SP Shwetambari in this connection, she said that police have been working hard day in day out to stop any such violation. |
