Management of Bann, Thandi Khui Toll Plazas denies allegations of harassment | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 25: Taking serious cognizance of the allegations of harassment at Thandi Khui and Bann Toll Plazas, the management of these toll plazas while denying the accusations as baseless, said that few vested interests are trying to misguide the general public. A press statement issued by the management here today said that Toll contractor was appointed by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and only acts as per rules and guidelines which are available in public domain and also on the websites of Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways and National Highways Authority of India. As per the established guidelines, there is no provision for free entry for locals at toll plazas but the commuters residing within 20 Kms from the toll plazas can avail monthly passes at Rs 280 per month as per the order no. 735 dated 29/03/2020 issued from Regional office, NHAI, J&K based upon MORTH guidelines on the subject. Local commercial vehicles without national permit have been granted 50% concession but only if they are availing FASTag facility as per guidelines circulated by NHAI vide letter no.147464 dated 15/01/2020. For to and fro facility, rates are applicable as per FASTag norms. Any query can be sorted out by visiting website [email protected] or can contact GM Commercial operations NHAI, Head office, New Delhi. Toll management strongly maintains that such a malicious propaganda against them is work of vested interests and therefore appeals general public not to get misled by it. |
