1000 released from admin quarantine so far in Bandipora
Six positive cases in Kupwara, one each in Bandipora, Baramulla

BANDIPORA, May 1: Thirty one persons who were shifted into administrative quarantine for having a contact with the COVID positive patient or a Covid suspect were discharged today after they tested negative and completed the quarantine period, while as six positive cases have been reported in Kupwara and one each in Baramulla and Bandipora today.
An official said among the released persons 19 persons were from Gund Dachina village three from Garoora, four from Pethkoot and five from Quil Muqam. The persons were sent to their respective homes and put in home quarantine for next 14 days.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh who has been designated as overall in-charge of quarantine facilities established in the district oversaw their discharge and their transportation. These persons were under medical supervision throughout their quarantine period and were discharged after clearance from doctors.
Beigh said so far 1,000 persons have been released from administrative quarantine in the district and currently 437 persons are under administrative quarantine in 33 different quarantine centers established in the district while 3,851 persons are also under home quarantine.
He said the persons are released from quarantine after following due procedure and nod from the doctors, adding the persons under quarantine are tested regularly and so far 1,632 persons were tested negative while 127 were tested positive in the district. He said 33,752 persons have been screened so far in 12 red zones of the district and the suspects are put under observation and tested. Meanwhile it is pertinent to mention here that, Bandipora district has been designated as Red Zone among other district of Jammu and Kashmir, while as Kupwara and Baramulla have been declared as Orange zones.
In Kupwara six new positive cases from Gonipora falling in Red Zone ITI Handwara, all contacts of earlier positive case and are asymptomatic, said D C Kupwara, Anshul Grag. In a statement he said that primary contacts being isolated for sampling tomorrow, aggressive tracing and testing to be taken up in the Red Zone to break the chain.
Moreover, two more patients have recovered taking the total number of recoveries to 21. Total number of active cases for Kupwara is now 34, the DC added.
From Uri Baramulla sources have said that, one more truck helper has been sent to quarantine center in TRC Salamabad Uri after he returned from out of state.
